Abstract

1324213 Plastics power-stopper; spouts COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE DE RAFFINAGE 5 Oct 1971 [16 Oct 1970 4 Feb 1971] 46294/71 Headings B8D and B8T A plastics stopper for hollow bodies consists of a powering element 1 and a cap 2, the powering element being engageable by means of a bead 7 with the neck of the body and provided with a nib 15 for piercing and tearing a heat sealed cover provided on the body neck. The powering element 1 may be capped by the engagement of the ribs 12 of the cap with the ribs 11 provided on the powering element 1. Alternatively, the cap may be provided with a nib 15a, Fig. 8, the nib being capable of tearing the heat sealed cover by passing through a grid 10 provided in the power element to prevent the torn cover falling through the stopper. The base of each hollow body is provided with a recess (20) Fig. 7 (not shown) which accommodates the capsule 2 to permit the stacking of the bodies.
