Abstract

1320817 Sintering machines GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE AG 19 April 1971 [28 Feb 1970] 23331/71 Heading F4B A gantry crane 7 straddling a sinter conveyer with removable pallets 3 runs on rails 9 parallel to the conveyer rails 4 and incorporates a hoist 13 running lengthwise thereof, platforms 14 each arranged to carry a pallet 3 and a drive motor 15. When it is desired to change a pallet, a spare is loaded on platform 14 by another crane (8, Fig. 2) and the crane 7 is attached to the sinter conveyer by the retractable angled ends 18 of piston-rods 17 actuated by hydraulic motors 16 engaging abutments 19 on the sinter pallets 3. Pressure of the rods 17 on the outer members of a trio of pallets releases the middle one which is exchanged for the spare by hoist 13 as the crane is carried along by the conveyer. Two hoist units may be arranged in series in the longitudinal direction of the sinter conveyer on the gantry crane.
