Abstract

1320155 Double-lift open-shed dobbies STAUBLI & CO Gebr 25 June 1970 [25 June 1969] 30990/70 Heading D1E A pattern card reading mechanism in a dobby comprises reading needles 25 biassed by springs 20 onto a pattern card 1, which needles, when they drop into a hole of the pattern card 1 move projections 65 on levers 18 into the path of reciprocating pushers 19 such that the levers 18 drive pins 15 via rocker levers 17, so that the pins engage the hooks 11 with the draw knives 12. The needles 25 are moved out of the holes of the pattern card, and the pins 15 retracted by the pushers 19 when they move outwards to engage a further projection 64 on the lever 18. To locate the needles 25 over the holes in card 1 they are oscillated longitudinally of the pattern card 1 by oscillating guides 24. The pushers 19 are attached to pivoted arms (27) Fig. 5, (not shown) which are oscillated by a rotating cam (21). This cam also serves to oscillate the guides 24 by reciprocating a member (32) acting on bell crank levers 22. The arrangement of the hooks and draw knife is described in Specification 1320154.
