Abstract

1319838 Reinforcement lattice for cast concrete AGENCE NATIONALE DE VALORISATION DE LA RECHERCHE 25 Aug 1970 [12 May 1970] 40873/70 Heading E1W [Also in Division D1] A reinforcement framework for use in the concrete construction of partitions, posts, floors, roofs, beams, staircases, bannisters and bridges is formed by the interengagement of two types of elements. The first element 1 comprises a series of straight parallel bars 2 each welded to one of the ridges of each of a series of corrugated rods 3. The second element 20 comprises a ladder like arrangement of parallel rods and interconnected cross pieces which engage and are supported by the straight bars of the first element in a plane substantially perpendicular to the planes containing the corrugations of the first element. The parallel rods of the second element may be straight or curved. The cross pieces of the second element may extend beyond the parallel rods and one of these extensions may be bent round each of the corrugation apices, alternatively the second element may be wedged between the straight bars of the first element. In this latter case the extensions may be bent to form hooks 23. Wire mesh 25 may be secured to the extensions and coated with cement or plaster which when hardened serves as permanent shuttering for concrete cast between two such meshes or onto one of same. Window openings may be formed in the mesh prior to casting.
