Abstract

1319681 Copying lamp CANON KK and DAI NIPPON TOKYO KK 12 June 1970 [12 June 1969] 28630/70 Heading F4R [Also in Divisions G2 and H1] An electrostatic copier comprises a plurality of light sources operable to emit light in different parts of the spectrum respectively. As shown fluorescent lamps 31-34 having reflectors 51-54 are rotatably mounted in a thermostatically controlled air-cooled housing 6 so that a selected lamp can be positioned adjacent a lens 9 to illuminate an original to be copied. The original may be illuminated by a single lamp for monochromatic copying or by each lamp in turn for polychromatic copying. Two sets of lamps may be used. The lighting arrangement may alternatively comprise a single annular lamp coated with different phosphors (Fig. 3A, not shown) or a number of arcuate lamps arranged in a circle (Fig. 36, not shown).
