Abstract

1319157 Control of DC motors LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GmbH 29 Oct 1970 [30 Oct 1969] 51504/70 Heading H2J [Also in Division G1] In an automatically balanced potentiometric system comprising transmitting potentiometer 3 (Fig. 1), receiving potentiometer 1, differential amplifier 4 and servomotor 2, the output of amplifier 4 is compared at 7, 8 with minimal reference voltages - #U and + #U to energize a relay A or B, depending on the polarity of the output of amplifier 4, whereby contacts a or b are closed to feed the appropriate positive or negative output from a pulse generator 5 to the servomotor 2. The duration of the pulses are proportional to the amplitude of the output of amplifier 4. When this output falls within the range Π#U the relay A or B is do-energized followed by motor 2. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 2) the pulse generator 5 feeds constant pulses to motor 2 via a summing amplifier 11 which adds the output signal of amplifier 4 to the energizing current for the motor. A plurality of servo potentiometers (including the associated motors) may be selectively connected, one at a time, to the servo drive circuit, by means of mechanical and/or electronic switches operated in dependence upon a control programme.
