Abstract
1318329 Alloys UDDEHOLMS AB 19 April 1971 [23 Feb 1970] 22368/71 Heading C7A A steel suitable for razor blades comprises:- (either Mo or W can be absent) and up to 0À5% of one or more of Ni, Co, Cu, Nb, Ta, Ti, V, Zr, B and rare earth metals present to a total of 1%, the balance being Fe. The steel is hot rolled and then cold rolled and then hardened by austenitizing at 850-1100‹C. for up to 1 min. and then water quenching or cooling to room temperature or to -70‹C. The steel may then be heated to 350-400‹C. so that a P.T.F.E. coating may be applied without too great a loss of hardness.
