Abstract

1317951 High density sintered porous alloys MITSUBISHI KINZOKU KOGYO K K 7 May 1970 22036/70 Headings C7A and C7D Dense sintered ferrous alloys are made from a compacted powder mixture of Fe and at least one other element e.g. C, Cu, Ni, Cr, Mn, Mo, W which is pre-sintered at 600-1200‹C. and then rapidly reheated e.g. H-F heating to 600-1300‹C. and hot formed at 4-7 t/sq. cm. Hot forming is effected by hot forging in a closed die and the process produces ferrous alloys of greater strength and density. Several examples of different powder mixtures are included.
