Abstract

1317364 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems MESSERSCHMITT-BOLKOW-BLOHM GmbH 10 May 1971 [26 May 1970] 13992/71 Heading G3P In a manually-operated fluid-pressure servosystem for the control surface of an aircraft, the fluid-pressures in a movable actuator cylinder 10 are applied to pistons 37, 38 of a control valve 32, to provide assistance felt by the person operating the system. The pilot operates the valve through a rod 50, lever 44 crank 40 spindle 43 and lever 44 while the resulting movement of the cylinder causes the valve housing 30 to be restored to its original relationship with the valve. A lever 16 connected by trunnions 17 to the cylinder may be connected directly in through a further lever to the control surface, the piston 14 within the cylinder being anchored at 15 to the aircraft structure. Devices 22, 23 damp the actuator movement. Conical portions 35, 36 on the valve 32 cause the assistance to decrease as the control surface approaches the required position.
