Abstract
1,246,712. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. H. M. HOBSON Ltd. May 28, 1970 [April 1, 1969], No.16985/69. Heading G3P. A hydraulic actuator for operating the flying control surface of an aircraft includes mechanism responsive to operation of the pilot's input member 2 in the event of seizure of the control valve 11 to operate a warning device. A pivot 39 forming part of the linkage between the member 2 and the valve remains stationary until the valve sticks when a pivot 36 becomes stationary and movement of the pivot 39 rotates levers 3 and 5 against the resistance of a spring-loaded plunger 7 to operate a micro-switch 6. On removal of fluid-pressure from the system, a spring 32 displaces a piston 31 until a fork 34 engages the pivot 36 to hold the valve 11 in its neutral position. Resistance to movement of the plunger 7 is also reduced by removal of fluid-pressure from a piston 9 so that testing of the operation of the microswitch is facilitated while the valve is held by the fork.
