Abstract

1317223 Discharge apparatus BURROUGHS CORP 19 April 1971 [31 March 1970] 24429/71 Heading H1D A discharge display device comprises a bottom plate 20 having in its top surface a plurality of parallel slots 30 each containing an electrode 60; a centre plate 70 having an array of holes 80 and having a plurality of electrodes 110 attached to its lower surface by an insulating layer (120), Fig. 2 (not shown); and a plurality of electrodes 170 located between the centre plate 70 and a top plate 140, the device being enclosed in a gasfilled envelope constituted by the top and bottom plates. Each electrode 110 has a row of apertures 130 smaller than holes 80, and arranged along a column of the latter, electrodes 60 and 170 being aligned along rows of holes 80. Methods of assembling the device are described.
