Abstract
1317008 Rotary piston machines SOC ANON DE VEHICULES INDUSTRIELS ET D'EQUIPEMENTS MECANIQUES 17 July 1970 [23 Oct 1969] 34751/70 Heading F1F In a rotary piston machine, (as shown, a machine of the Root's blower type), having a stator 1 and at least one toothed rotor 2, 3, each tooth is slotted to receive radial and axial seals 7, 8 which are biased, by leaf-springs 16, 17, into contact with the walls of the stator 1 at low operating speeds, but which are retracted, above a predetermined operating speed by a weight 15, acted upon by centrifugal force to pivot a pair of levers 13 having fingers 11, 12 engaging hooked portions 9, 10 on the seals 7, 8. The rotors 2, 3 have bores 6 to reduce their weight.
