Abstract

1316318 Valves SAUNDERS VALVE CO Ltd 29 Nov 1971 [14 Dec 1970] 59244/70 Heading F2V A diaphragm valve is provided with an independently actuated supplementary valve for facilitating repair of the diaphragm comprising a rotatable apertured member 7 which is displaceable between a first position where apertures 9 and 10 are in register with passages 11 and 12 respectively to a second position where diaphragm is isolated from the passages. An 0-ring 13 and an apertured gasket 15 are disposed between the member 7 and the valve case 1 for sealing. The member 7 is integral with the weir and bolted to the bonnet of the valve casing. The member 7 is fixed to a shaft 3 and held against the gasket by a nut 6 bearing against the casing. The member may also be provided with a flow passage through the weir so that in the second position the flow is not interrupted.
