Abstract

1315672 Linings for furnaces and ladles NIPPON KOKAN KK 5 June 1970 27174/70 Heading F4B The inner surface of an unfired brick lining of a molten metal containing furnace or ladle, is covered by a refractory insulating layer of such a thickness that, on initial firing of the furnace or initial use of the ladle under given operating conditions, the temperature gradient within the brick lining always remains below that at which thermal stresses, greater than the material of the brick could withstand, would be set up. The use of layers 10 or 50 mm. thick is disclosed.
