Abstract

1315445 Evaporation dryer OBERMAIER & CIE 27 April 1971 [2 March 1971] 11517/71 Heading F4G Drying is carried out by first exposing the fibre or yarn material to be dried to a continuously moistened flow of heated gas thus heating the material without drying it, and then secondly to pass unheated unmoistened gas over the material to remove moisture by evaporation. Material to be dried in the form of bobbins 2, 2a is contained in two containers 1, 1a connected to a fan 4 and heater 5 by ducts 3, 3a. Closed ducts 3, 3a supply a vapour gas mixture to the containers 1, la, the moisture being charged by moistening device 9. Compressed air source 14, connected to ducts 3, 3a, reduces the drying capacity of the air. Evacuating device 7 and associated conder.ser 8 on ducts 6, 6a are connected to containers 1, 1a, the containers 1, 1a being provided with ventilating and evacuating valves 10, 10a. Electrical heating coils 11, 11a, 11b in ducts 3, 3a prevent condensation in regions where it is rot desired. Reversing members 13, 13a, 13b permit alternative connection of the containers 1, 1a to the fan 4, heater 5 and moistening device 9 in the circuit 3, or 3a, and to the evacuating device 7 in the circuit 6 or 6a.
