Abstract
1315386 Pneumatic conveyers VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT STROITELNOGO I DOROZHNOGO MASHINOSTROENIA 2 Sept 1970 41955/70 Headings B8A and B8S [Also in Division G1] Apparatus for discharging and batching powder-like material comprises a hopper 1 from which material is delivered through a pipe-line 10 via a chamber 6 which is supported by a weighing device 19 incorporating an automatic balance 21. The charging of the chamber 6 starts on opening valves 4, 7 in the hopper and chamber respectively, and air is fed from a compressor (not shown) in the direction of arrow A through a valve 30 to the hopper base 2 to effect aeration of the material and a valve 12 in the pipe-line 10 which is operatively connected to an air distribution valve 14 is closed whereby the valve 14 diverts air through conduits 26, 27 to blow out the pipe-line 10 downstream of the valve 12. When the combined weight of the chamber 6 and charged material reaches a preset value on the balance 21 a signal is sent therefrom to close valves 4, 7 and 30, valve 12 is opened whereby the air distributing valve 14 is switched to permit compressed air to be delivered along conduits 26, 28 into chamber 6, the material flowing out through pipe-line 30 until a further signal from the balance 21 closes the valve 12, and a relief valve 9 in the chamber 6 is opened to allow the pressure therein to fall to atmospheric. After a predetermined time delay the valves 4, 7 are opened and the above described cycle is repeated.
