Abstract

1315374 Tobacco-smoke filters BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [20 April 1970] 18758/70 Heading A2C [Also in Divisions Bl Cl and F4] Triple cigarette filters comprise a centre section containing a granular manganese dioxide (which may contain 8% Ag and 7% Cu) and two shorter outer sections each of conventional filtering material. The granules may be 0.30-0.71 mm. The filter removes CO by oxidation to CO 2 . The preparation of the manganese dioxide is described (Division Cl).
