1287147 Tobacco-smoke filters BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO CO Ltd 22 April 1970 [19 May 1969] 25432/70 Heading A2C [Also in Division C1] A tobacco-smoke filtering material comprises granules of active manganese dioxide having a surface area of 20 to 500 m<SP>2</SP>/g (see Division C1 Silver may be added to the MnO 2 , preferably in quantities between 0.1% and 10% by weight. A filter may be formed by filling the space between two plugs of conventional filtering materials with the active MnO 2 .
