Abstract

1315357 Photo sensor cleaning FORNEY INTERNATIONAL Inc 17 Aug 1970 [15 Aug 1969] 39603/70 Heading G1A In a light detecting apparatus for, for example a flame monitor the sensitive element is kept clean by a web in contact with its surface and arranged periodically to perform a wiping moving, the web having an aperture which in the rest position allows light from the flame to impinge on the element and in being moved to effect the wiping performs a test on the monitor. The web is held in tension by a spring and is piston actuated. A blast of air is directed through the casing to effect cooling and to carry away the wiped dirt.
