Abstract

1315085 Photographic processes NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO 25 Oct 1971 [5 Nov 1970] 49427/71 Heading G2C A photographic process comprises imagewise exposing a photo-sensitive material comprising a support with a coating containing microscopic droplets of an organic solvent solution of a 4, 4'-bis (di-C 1 -C 4 alkylamine) benzophenone isolated by pressure-rupturable, u.v. transmissive polymer which converts the benzophenone to a hydrol, pressure is uniformly applied to rupture the droplets and then treated with acidic material to produce a dye. The droplets are preferably capsules. The acidic material may be in a separate layer of the material, incorporated in the capsule wall or be in a separate sheet in which case dye image is produced on this sheet. Specified acidic materials are acidic clays, polymers containing free carboxylic acid groups, polymers disclosed in Specification 1053935 and zinc chloride.
