Abstract

851,819. Photomechanical printing plates, producing. LITHO CHEMICAL & SUPPLY CO. Inc. Dec. 16, 1958 [May 22, 1958], No. 40620/58. Class 98(2) At least one surface of an aluminium plate is rendered hydrophilic by either a silicating or an anodizing process, sensitised with a solution constituted of a hydro-alcoholic solution of the water-soluble condensation product of p diazodiphenylamine and formaldehyde, superpolyamide nylon resin and a non-ionic surface active agent, image-wise exposed by ultra-violet light, treated with a lacquer constituted of a pigmented organic solvent containing a furfuryl-alcohol condensate and an epexy resin which is a condensation polymer of epechlorhydrin and _biophenol, and developed with a solution of gum arabic and phosphoric acid to remove unexposed areas of the light-sensitive coating and result in a lithographic plate. An example provides all details of operation and the developer as so detailed is included within the terms of the invention. U.S.A. Specification 2,826,501 is referred to.
