Abstract

1314733 Air heating stoves J HILL-HARTLAND 10 June 1971 [10 March 1970] 11288/70 Heading F4S An oil-fired space heating stove, of the kind wherein air to be heated is passed, by means of a motor-driven fan 15, through an annular jacket space 12 surrounding a cylindrical combustion chamber 10 fired by a burner unit, is provided with a double thermostat 22 located in the space 12, the thermostat serving (a) to indicate operation of the fan 15 when a predetermined air temperature is reached and (b) to cut off the supply of oil to the burner when a higher predetermined temperature is reached, e.g. due to failure of the fan. The burner unit, which contains an electrically driven pump for supplying oil to the burner, is bolted to a burner plate 13a at the lower end of the combustion chamber. The upper end of the chamber 10 is closed by a cap 18 and combustion gases leave the chamber by way of an outlet 17. The upper end of the jacket 11 has a truncated cover 19 on which a cowl 20 is rotatably mounted, the cowl having a discharge stub 20a for the heated air. The annular space 12 is provided with a baffle 16.
