Abstract

1313901 Apparatus for clearing sewage sludge; endless conveyers D WICKHAM & CO (STEVENAGE) Ltd 21 May 1971 [16 June 1970] 29218/70 Headings B8A and B8E Dried sewage sludge is cleared from a bed of sand by an elevator 11 which is provided with downwardly curved tines 23 which lift the sludge as the elevator moves along a gantry 10. The latter is mounted on wheels for travel over the bed. Pivoted links 15, 16 support the elevator which is raised and lowered by a jack 17. Slats 12 on the elevator move the sludge up over a back plate and on to a conveyer 13 which feeds a conveyer 14. The inclination of the tips of the tines to the vertical is less than 45 degrees.
