1313500 Road traffic signals on vehicles JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 23 Sept 1970 [13 Oct 1969] 50184/69 Heading G4Q A direction indicator system for a vehicle which can be used with or without a trailer compris3s a direction indicator switch 17 to energize the vehicle flasher lamps 18 or 19, an electrical connector 21 for engagement with a connector 22 on the trailer to connect trailer flasher lamps 23, 24, and two flasher units 14, 15, one or other of which is selected by switch 16, so that the flasher lamps operate with the same frequency whether or not the trailer lamps are connected. Switch 16 may be operated manually or by a relay winding 25.
