Abstract

1312336 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems SERCK INDUSTRIES Ltd 6 Sept 1971 [22 Aug 1970] 40541/70 Heading G3P A pair of pressure regulators 14, 15 in parallel with each other and in series with a gas supply conduit 10 are set to provide different regulated values of delivery pressure in a conduit 11 connected to valves 27, 28 opened by a rise in pressure above the lower and higher regulated values, respectively. When the valve 27 opens, fluid flows from the conduit 11 to actuate a spool valve 34 which connects a gas storage cylinder 45 with an actuator 18 for a shut-off valve 16 to stop flow through the regulator 14. The actuator also opens a pilot valve 22 to connect a piston and cylinder 54 to the cylinder 45 to operate a second spool valve 35 controlling an actuator 19 to open a shut-off valve 17 so that the pressure in conduit 11 is now determined by the regulator 15. Operation of the valve 28 causes the positions of the valves 16, 17 to be reversed. Selector valves 31, 48, which are mechanically coupled, enable the roles of the regulators to be reversed. Filters 62, 63 and a reducing valve 65 to charge the cylinder 45 are included in the apparatus.
