Abstract

1,140,584. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. MOOG Inc. Jan.18, 1966, No.35192/68. Divided out of 1,140,582. Heading G3P. A servomechanism comprises a valve 1B controlling an actuator 117 in response to electrical signals fed to a solenoid 118. The solenoid actuates a flapper 121 controlling the leak from nozzles 119, 120 to provide a pressure differential acting on end faces 148, 148' of a spool valve 128. The spool valve controls the flow of fluid to and from chambers 163, 164 of the actuator 117 and a positional feedback is provided between the actuator and the solenoid by a potentiometer 168. Positive and negative pressure feedbacks are also provided in respect of the load pressures in the chambers 163, 164. The pressure inchamber 163 is connected through passage 179 to act on area 149' of the spool valve 128 and through passage 187 and restrictor 186 to act on area 150. Similarly the pressure in chamber 164 acts on areas 149 and 150' of the valve. The pressures acting on areas 150, 150' also act on a piston 180 which together with the restrictions 186, 188 constitute a low pass filter. The positive feedback areas 150, 150' are preferably larger than the negative feedback areas 149, 149'. The Specification also describes other methods of action of the pressure feedbacks which are described and claimed in Specifications 1,140,582, 1,140,583 and 1,140,585.
