Abstract
1312026 Waistbands for garments W AUGUSTIN 5 Nov 1971 [11 Nov 1970] 51530/71 Heading A3V A waistband for a pair of trousers comprises an outer band 2 having a fleecy insert 4 and an inner lining band 3 with an insert 11, the bands being folded at 5a and b and 8a and b respectively and seamed together at the upper edge of the waistband to provide a concealed seam 6 and seamed together with an interposed portion of the trouser fabric 9 with a visible seam 10 at the lower edge of the waistband. The insert 4 is glued and ironed on to the outermost layer 2 and is weakened as by perforations along the lines of the folds 5a and b to promote sharp folds. For ease of sewing the insert 11 stops just short of the seam 6.
