1311285 Drop forming particulate spheres UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 6 April 1970 37424/71 Divided out of 1311284 Heading B5A [Also-in Division B8] In an apparatus for forming particulate spheres by the sol-gel method, the drop forming means at the top of the column comprises a nozzle with a plurality of drop outlets and a shroud around the nozzle through which a gas is passed to provide a curtain of gas around the drops, the shroud being tapered inwardly at its lower end. Preferably a plurality of nozzles are provided, each surrounded by a shroud.
