Abstract

1310002 Cases; portable containers; packages MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO 6 Jan 1971 [29 Jan 1970] 670/71 Headings B8C B8D and B8P [Also in Divisions A5 and E2] A sealed case containing breathing equipment comprises a base 1 and a cover 2 having peripheral flanges 3 releasably clamped against an interposed gasket 10 by a wire 12, which is provided upper and lower rows of staggered loops 11 respectively engaging the base and cover flanges. A pull strip 13 is attached to one end of the wire to permit the ready removal thereof. The other end of the wire is attached to a lug 14, Fig. 5 (not shown), on the gasket to permit pulling of the gasket from between the flanges thereby breaking the seal of the case, which may be under reduced air pressure.
