Abstract

1307913 Valves RICOH TOKEI KK 14 April 1970 [18 April 1969] 17630/70 Heading F2V [Also in Division A5] A valve closure member is spring urged to its open position, but is held closed by a spring loaded detent which is rendered inoperative when a fusible member melts. The outlet valve 17, Fig. 3, of a fire extinguisher is opened by a spring loaded bar 12b when pivoted arms 10, 10a are released by the melting of a fusible member (8). In a modification a valve (57) is opened to admit a heat insulating gas from a container (41) into a safe (not shown) when a fusible member (61) melts and permits a spring loaded arm 51 (Fig. 5) to pivot about axis 52 out of engagement with a catch on a spring loaded rod 48.
