Abstract

1306431 Electro-photographic developing apparatus; automatic control of concentration CANON KK 17 Feb 1970 [24 Feb 1969] 7541/70 Headings G2H and G3R In an electro-photographic developing apparatus, developer solution is pumped between a reservoir 1 and a developing tray (6), Fig. 1 (not shown); a detector 8 being positioned in the reservoir for detecting the concentration of the solution and controlling the addition of developer concentrate from a tank (10). As shown, the detector 8 comprises a photo-cell CdS 1 , which receives light direct from lamp L (optionally via a slit or filter 24), and a photo-cell CdS 2 which receives light via a quantity of developer. The photo-cells are included in a bridge circuit, Fig. 7, imbalance of which triggers a transistor oscillator which turns on a silicon controlled rectifier to actuate a valve for adding predetermined doses of concentrate.
