Abstract
1306188 Shaft linings GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE AG 19 April 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 23019/71 Heading E1F A mine shaft lining fabricated in situ by welding together steel sheets along joints 4, 19, is kept dry during welding by a shield casing 3 lowered down the shaft to surround the weld joints. The lowermost section 12 of the lining is mounted on a foundation ring 10 surrounded by a packing 11. The section 12 forms an annular sump 16' for ground water. During construction of the foundation, an auxiliary pumping platform (15, Fig. 2, not shown) is mounted in contact with the shaft walls so that water running down the walls runs into an annular sump (16) on the platform.
