1304780 Firearms PJAMPY H BOUIX and R ARMAND 25 Aug 1970 [27 Aug 1969] 40908/70 Heading F3C A firearm comprises a plurality of barrels 3, e.g. three barrels, means for loading and firing the barrels simultaneously and means for setting the cycles of the longitudinal axes of the barrels with respect to one another. The firearm shown is of the short barrel recoil type and the barrels 3 are mounted in a barrel-carrying block 2 which is provided with the firing chamber 4. Cartridges 25 are presented to the barrels in containers 23 housed initially in a magazine 22, the cartridges 25 being urged from the containers into the respective chambers 4 by projections of heads of the breech block 5 and subsequently fired while the container remains in the loading position. The breech block 5 is located to the block 2 by a pair of pivoted cam-actuated, coupling hooks 9. On recoil of the barrels-container breech block assembly the hooks 9 are firstly disengaged from the block 2, the container 23 abuts a stop in the receiver 1 and the spent cartridge cases are drawn back into the container by extractors 7 of the breech block 5 as the breech block recoils further. The breech block 5 then actuates an ejection lever (not shown) to eject the container through an ejection opening 26. (Figs. 4 to 8, not shown). As the barrels move forwardly again a new container 23 is fed into the loading position. If the containers are made of plastics material the cartridge carrying apertures have an opening longitudinally along the wall thereof (Fig. 3, not shown).
