Abstract

1304766 Hose end fittings FREDERICK DUFFIELD PTY Ltd 28 Aug 1970 [2 Sept 1969] 41623/70 Heading F2G A hose end fitting comprises a spigot 16, segmental elements 12 adapted to be forced radially inwardly to clamp the hose wall to the spigot, and collars 13, 14 adapted to be fitted around the elements whilst the clamping force is being exerted so as to retain the elements in clamping position after cessation of the force. There may be four segments 12 and these may be interconnected by pliable material (not shown) or affixed around a sleeve of compressible material (not shown). To maintain the segments in a desired configuration, circlips 32 may be positioned in annular grooves or adjacent edges of adjacent segments may be provided with interengaging formations. The collars 13, 14 may be screwed on to threaded ends of the segments or the collars and segments may be formed with interengaging annular grooves. Each collar may be formed with an inwardly facing shoulder for engaging a complementary recess formed in the segments. Collar 13 may include an inwardly directed flange for engageing the spigot 16.
