Abstract

1,059,714. Hose couplings. SUPERFLEXIT Ltd. Oct. 28, 1965 [Feb. 26, 1965], No. 8442/65. Heading F2G. A tubular liner 5 is forced axially into a hose 2, of polytetrafluoroethylene, nylon, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride or polythene to expand the hose radially outwardly and force the material of the hose into spaced, annular grooves 4 in a nipple 1, a compression ring 24 being mounted on the liner to expand the hose into an annular recess 26 in the nipple. The liner may have a tubular extension (31), Fig. 3 (not shown), which carries the ring 24, the extension and liner being moved axially in opposite directions and the end of the extension being peened outwardly into a groove in the nipple.
