Abstract

1296930 Pipe couplings OFFSHORE CO 9 April 1970 [28 April 1969] 33021/71 Divided out of 1296929 Heading F2G [Also in Division E1] Longitudinal members in supporting legs of an offshore structure are connected end-to-end by a spigot 42 on one member engaging with a socket 44 on the adjacent member, the spigot being secured by segments 50 that are radially movable by screws 52. When fully retracted the segments lie wholly within annular grooves 54. Engagement of the segments with annular grooves 56 is facilitated by the tapered crosssections thereof.
