1303761 Radioactive preparations UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA FOUNDATION Inc 28 April 1971 [20 May 1970] 11960/71 Heading G6R [Also in Division A5] A radiopharmaceutical lung scanning preparation comprises an aqueous suspension of macroaggregates of size 5 to 100 microns containing technetium 99m, sulphur, and gelatin, which microaggregates have been stabilized by treatment with a dialdehyde of 2 to 8 carbon atoms. The preparation may be made by adding gelatin, sodium thiosulphate, and sodium perrhenate to water, followed by a radioactive technetium solution and hydrochloric acid; the mixture is heated, the pH adjusted to 4-4À5, pentanediol added, and the suspension again heated and centrifuged; the remaining particles are washed and suspended in a saline solution.
