Abstract

1453291 Separating radioisotopes E R SQUIBB & SONS Inc 24 Oct 1973 [24 Oct 1972] 46957/73 Heading G6R A radioactive solution generator, from which a short-lived radioisotope may be eluted for use in medical diagnosis, comprises a hollow body 12 containing a radioactive source material 36 and closed by pierceable closures 16, 18 which are made of a silicone rubber, e.g. dimethylvinylpolysiloxane, which is gas pervious and permits the escape of gas formed during autoclaving of the generator. The generator may be used for the elution with dilute nitric acid of Tc99m from Mo99 absorbed on alumina.
