Abstract

130,251. Garner, H., and Garner, J. P. Nov. 30, 1918. Tyres, non-elastic. - A supplementary rim for use on the wheels of motor-tractors is formed in sections each comprising side platen 1 connected by transverse angle-iron bars 2, Fig. 2. or inverted V-section plates 3, Fig. 7. The rim sections are secured to the wheel tyre 7 by fixed hooks 6 on one of the segments 1, and adjustable clamps on the other ring. the hooks and clamps gripping the tyre 7 as shown. The clamps comprise a fixed lug 9, to which is pivoted a movable part 8 by means of an eye-bolt 11 fitted with a nut 14. The part 8 has a bevelled nose 12 to engage a corresponding recess 13 between the edge of the segment 1 and the lug 9. To adapt the device for use on hard the transverse members may be fitted with rubber studs.
