Abstract
1301858 Plastics ducting; junction pieces; pipe couplings HENRY HARGREAVES & SONS Ltd 19 April 1971 [28 Oct 1969] 52799/69 Headings F2G and F2P In fire resistant ducting formed of reinforced vinyl sheet or sheets 11, 12 the joint at each longitudinal edge of the sheet or sheets is formed by overlapped edges secured together by corrosion resistance fastening devices 15 and the exposed edge of the lap joint is sealed by a weld 17. The fastenings are preferably nickelcopper alloy rivets, the weld is preferably a P.V.C. weld and the reinforcement may be asbestos fibres. The ducting may be straight or in the form of a bend (Fig. 4, not shown) with the fastenings in which case angled tags (34) are incorporated for strengthening and the ends of the bend may be welded internally (36) so as to leave the outside clean for jointing with further duct sections. Duct sections may be joined, Fig. 3, by a butt joint with an internal sleeve 22 secured by rivets 23 with an external P.V.C. collar welded at 26.
