1301215 Forging hammers BECHE & GROHS GmbH 19 April 1971 [28 July 1970] 24522/71 Heading B3H In a counterblow hammer having hydraulically coupled rams x and y, the driven upper ram x possesses two piston-rods a which dip into extensions of a vessel b which is arranged laterally beside the lower ram y, the extensions of the vessel b being filled with liquid, the vessel possessing a further extension beneath the lower ram into which a piston-rod c dips which engages on the lower ram; due to the centre line of the rod c being offset by an amount e<SP>3</SP> in relation to the centre of gravity S 2 of the lower ram y, the upper and lower rams x and y experience a tilting movement through the piston coupling rods which is so directed that the rams always abut on the same parts of the guides f, g, i, k and l, m, n, o. In other embodiments, in order to generate the tilting moment, the diameters of the pistonrods a and c are made different. Alternatively, two coupling vessels b are provided and are interconnected by an hydraulic pump which delivers the liquid from one vessel b to the other. The liquid can flow back again through a differential pressure valve. In this way one vessel receives a higher pressure than the other, so that the rams x, y again receive the desired tilting moment into the constrained position.
