1300420 Clips P LEVERTON 18 Sept 1970 [20 June 1969] 31219/69 Heading E2B A constirictitole band clip of the kind having an encircling flexible band b and screw means for tightening or constricting the band comprises a U-shaped saddle having a base curved to fit substantially the circumference of a pipe, a screw-threaded block 4 bridging the limbs l of the saddle and forming a nut, and an adjuster screw 5 threaded through the block and extending tangentially to the circumference of the band. One end b 1 of the band passes through the limbs 1 and has a series of holes or recesses b 3 for the longitudinal adjustment thereof by engagement with a projection 3 formed or mounted on the saddle, the other end b 2 of the band being passed in the opposite direction through the limbs I and being formed with or having secured thereto a bearing member, e.g. a nut 7, to which the adjuster screw is rotatably attached. The end portion b 2 of the band passes close above the projection 3 to hold the end portion b 1 in engagement with the projection. The latter may be in the form of a captive ball or a prong mounted on an arm pivoted on the saddle.
