Abstract

1299653 Knitting-machines UNIVERSAL MASCHINENFABRIK DR RUDOLF SCHIEBER KG 14 April 1970 17815/70 Heading D1C A V bed flat machine includes mechanism for selecting needles to transfer stitches, comprising carriers 6 movably supported on brackets 14 indexable along the beds and having a control arm 7 which pushes a jack into the cam path. Carriers are provided for each selvedge and are indexable in opposite directions. Two blanks may be knit on each head, four carriers being provided. Carriers are positioned adjacent selvedge needles and moved upwards against the force of loading springs to a position such that pin 21 engages cams 22 on the carriage (b). The arm is depressed by cam 36 so that butt 9 engages behind jack butt 11 and the carriage raised by face 35(d). The jacks raised by cam 32 raise the needles onto cam 34 so that they eventually pass the transfer position between cams 27 and are lowered to an inactive level. The carriage and jack are lowered by face 40(h) while the arm is depressed to engage the jack butt. Additional carriage carrying brackets adjacent and movable with the selvedge brackets may be provided on the front bed for patterning parallel to the selvedges.
