Abstract
1299387 Hydrodenitrogenation; hydrocracking STANDARD OIL CO 10 April 1970 [10 April 1969] 17128/70 Heading C5E A petroleum hydrocarbon feedstock boiling above 350‹ F. and containing 1-3000 p.p.m. nitrogen is treated with H 2 and a hydrodenitrogenation catalyst to give a denitrogenated effluent and the effluent is hydrocracked with a hydrocracking catalyst, the hydrodenitrogenation catalyst comprising a group VIa or VIII metal, oxide and/or sulphide hydrogenating component on a co-catalytic acidic support comprising large-pore crystalline aluminosilicate and a refractory metal oxide, and the hydrocracking catalyst comprising a group VIa or VIII metal, oxide and/or sulphide on an acidic support consisting of large-pore crystalline aluminosilicate. Prefered catalysts are denitrogenation: Ni and W in an ultra-stable aluminosilicate dispersed in a SiO 2 -Al 2 O 3 matrix; hydrocracking: Ni and W on an ultrastable aluminosilicate support. Preferably no separation is effected between the hydrodenitrogenation and the hydrocracking.
