Abstract

1297368 Mounting wheels on shafts CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM Ltd 19 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 20943/70 Heading F2V A bearing 11 having an outer ring 13 mounted in a housing, has an inner ring (e.g. two aunnli 12) supporting a shaft 14 and having one side engaging (e.g. as at 16) a hub 15 integral with the shaft e.g. for a vehicle wheel) there being drive resuring collar 18 having clamping means (e.g. a nut 25 and bolt 20 which bolt may be integral with the collar) to hold the collar in engagement with the other side of the ring. The bolt 20 may non-rotatively engage a washer 19 either by bolt head flats 22 engaging walls of a transverse slot 23 in the washer, or by the bolt shank immediately adjacent the washer and the washer having interengaging axial serrations. The collar 18 may be prevented from rotation relative to the shaft 14 by splines 17b and to the washer 19 by a protrusion 24 thereon engaging an axial groove.
