Abstract
The procedure consists of the following stages, after removal of the wheel. The hub (5) is removed from the inner race (18) of the hub bearing (4). The bearing is then extracted from the stub axle (17). The fitting process is the reverse and the bearing is fitted to the stub axle and the hub then pushed on to the bearing. Both removals and fittings are achieved by means of a double acting jack (1), which acts on two bolts (6,7), which are bolted to the hub for its removal and then act through the hub to remove the bearing by means of a pushing action. The use of a central mandrel enables the fitting of the parts on to the stub axle.
