1297091 Tobacco-smoke filters SUPLA ETAB 20 April 1971 [24 April 1970] 10089/71 Heading A2C [Also in Division Bl] A cigarette filter 4 comprises an outer sheath 6 surrounding at least one filter element 5 which has a central filament extending in the smoke flow direction and a plurality of fibres which substantially cover the central filament in a regular distribution and project radially from the central filament in directions transverse to the flow direction. The filaments (3) may be monofilar or polyfilar threads of plastics material, cotton or wool, and the fibres may consist of natural fibres, viscose fibres or polyamine fibres.
