Abstract

1296816 Feeding sheets CLUETT PEABODY & CO Inc 28 Aug 1970 [29 Aug 1969] 41523/70 Heading B8R Fabric plies F are separated from the top of a pile by picking needles 30 which are moved downwardly into contact with the top ply on modules M, and pivoted upwardly on levers 10 to raise the top ply (or a predetermined number of plies) up on to locking needles 36. One module may be provided at each corner of the pile and when the top ply (or plies) has been lifted the modules are raised by piston and cylinder arrangements 102 and transported on belt 103 to a delivery station 101. Pressing members 50 are moved to engage the pile when the top ply (or plies) has been lifted.
