Abstract
1,257,109. Transferring apparatus. KANNEGIESSER MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. 9 May, 1969 [5 Dec., 1968], No. 23825/69. Heading B6C. A method of printing both sides of a single or multiple layer flat textile article comprises the steps of covering both sides of the article with respective transfer printing sheets, conveying said article and sheets between two relatively spaced heated pressing platens, and closing the platens to transfer impressions simultaneously from the sheets to each side of the article. As shown, printing apparatus comprises a conveyer 37 which moves in steps to convey a textile article 31, e.g. a pullover, together with its associated transfer sheets, from a feeding station 35 to the printing station 32 and then to a delivery station 36. The printing station. 35 comprises heated platens 33, 34 which are moved together and apart, by an hydraulic cylinder 47, in synchronism with the movements of the conveyer 37; platen 34 may be padded and platen 33 may be covered with a temperature-resistant cloth 42. A self-stacking table 38 may be provided to receive the printed articles delivered from station 36. The article 31 is preferably mounted on a form (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown), so that a composite arrangement 46 of transfer sheets, article, and form is fed to the printing station.
