Abstract

1295668 Dispensing devices; collapsible tubes H S CRANSTONE 25 Aug 1970 [26 Aug 1969] 42348/69 Headings B8D and B8T A dispensing device for filling grease guns comprises a flexible container 1 having an outlet tube 2 attached to the end wall 2a by a threaded boss 3. The tube 2 is fitted with a circular flange 4, which has concentric guide lines (5), Fig. 1 (not shown), as an aid to trimming the flange to fit the barrel of a grease gun 8. To fill the gun 8, its end cap is removed and the piston 7 is moved to the bottom of the barrel. The tube 2 is then inserted down the barrel, whereupon the contents of the container 1 are squeezed out, the dispensing device being pushed out of the barrel as filling proceeds. The tube 2 can be removed, the container 1 being closed by a screw cap. In another embodiment, the tube 2 is integral with the container, and may extend beyond the flange 4 and receive a screw cap or plug. The container 1 may be provided with a slotted key to fit over the end 6 of the container to aid the expulsion of the grease.
